Position Purpose
Supervises, instructs, guides and evaluates all aspects of the clinical training of student radiographers. Maintains all appropriate corresponding educational records. Acts as a liaison between the hospital, college, technologists and students.
What you will do
- Monitors training of students to ensure the production of quality radiographs. Instructs assigned clinical lab classes relating to standard examination positioning, technique, routines, and film.
- Establishes and maintains student assignments and coordinates with all related departments and resources. Reviews student progress and rotations through department modalities ensuring student is ready for advancement to next stage of practical instruction.
- Visits student campuses regularly to coordinate Mercy Medical Center student education/training program with local colleges and to maintain communication with trainees and instructors.
- According to established procedures, reviews examinations with students properly instructing them with departmental routines and procedure requirements. Teaches alternate techniques and positioning methods for difficult to position patients. Instructs for protective lead shields.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Work requires the level of knowledge acquired through completion of an Associate's degree program in Radiologic Technology. Massachusetts license and A.R.R.T. registration required. Radiology Instructor/Trainer courses preferred.
- Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist plus three months or less of on-the-job training and orientation.
