SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist Assistant will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the daily operation of the department.
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Lipson Cancer Institute
DEPARTMENT: Oncology
SCHEDULE: M-F 8 - 4:30
Minimum Qualifications:
•High School diploma or equivalent
•2-3 years of experience in a clinical, bed-side setting with an emphasis on patient care
•Strong customer service, computer, and communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES
- •Supports the daily duties of the radiation therapist under their direct supervision to include:
•Stocking the treatment rooms
•Collecting patient information prior to treatment
•Preparing the rooms for individual patient treatment
•Assisting the patient in changing for treatment
•Assisting the Radiation Therapist in positioning the patient for treatment
•Assisting the patient’s transport back to the waiting area
•Assisting the patient from the treatment area to the clinic, completing vitals as needed
•Directs any patient concerns regarding side effects or treatment process to the Radiation Therapist or Nursing staff
•Schedules patients for treatment
•Completes daily billing for patients undergoing treatment
•Gathers quarterly QA information
•Assists in ordering of supplies
•Assists in making immobilization devices
•Collects patient information prior to simulation, assuring charts are couriered to the hospital
•Prepares for weekly chart rounds

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

14621The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
