R&D Inflammation Research - Grad Intern

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will collaborate on discovery research projects in the Inflammation therapeutic area and play a key role in advancing innovative, early-stage research programs toward novel therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Your responsibilities will include learning and providing both scientific and technical expertise while generating robust proof-of-concept data to support our discovery efforts.

  • Perform cellular and molecular immunology techniques, including primary cell isolation from tissues, in vitro immunological assays, and multiparameter flow cytometry.
  • Design and execute experiments, analyze data, interpret results, and contribute to experimental optimization.
  • Learn the drug development process, understand what distinguishes industry-driven research from academic discovery, and gain new perspectives on translational science.
  • Present your research findings at lab meetings, as well as an internal symposium at the conclusion of the internship.

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the [internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree concentrations in immunology, molecular biology, or related life sciences.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Experience in multicolor flow cytometry of immune cells.
  • Experience with immunoassay platforms and data analysis methods, including but not limited to ELISA, MSD, AlphaLISA, and HTRF, is a plus.

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30-$40 per hour
