Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £42,500 – £50,000 DOE

We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with around 3–5 years’ experience to join a Derby-based civil engineering contractor.

The business works across groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works projects, so you’ll be supporting a varied mix of schemes rather than being tied to one type of work.

The role will be split between the office and project sites.

What we’re looking for

* Around 3–5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience

* Previous civil engineering experience

* Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts

* A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification, such as a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent

* Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts

* Confident working across both office and site environments

* Full UK driving licence

What you’ll be doing

* Commercially supporting civil engineering projects from start through to final account

* Preparing valuations and applications for payment

* Managing variations and compensation events

* Monitoring project costs, forecasts and margins

* Managing subcontractor packages and accounts

* Working closely with site teams, project managers and clients

* Supporting projects across groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works

You’ll be based from the Derby office with regular travel to sites as required. A car allowance is provided for site travel.
