Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products and processes to ensure they meet established quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Perform inspections of the product prior to the pressure/leak test.
- Move product into pressure/leak test bay using overhead crane or forklift as appropriate.
- Perform P&ID review with assembled product.
- Remove any PSV and ports plugged prior to pressure.
- Perform pressure/leak test per published work instructions.
- Document results of pressure/leak test on QCI and create NCR for any non-conformances identified during the test.
- Notify the production team of any leaks noted to facilitate repair.
- Replace any removed PSV after completion of all pressure/leak testing.
- Move product from the pressure/leak test bay to the paint preparation area.
- Perform oil flush and fill per work instructions.
- Update QCI with results of oil flush/fill.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Perform oil recycling work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Able to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and P&ID layouts.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based programs and functions.
- Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
- Thorough attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl as needed.
- Comfortable working in awkward or confined spaces.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed
