Quality Technician

Primary Purpose of this Position: 

Responsible for the analysis, inspection, and measurement of production process; production line start-up; keep documentation up-to-date and ensure compliance of the specifications and requirements of the manufacturing process.

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

• Verify production itinerary and prepare documentation for your shift.
• Perform visual, dimensional, chemical, and physical inspection tests on finished good at the frequency established by the quality department. 
• Be responsible of an immediate notification to the Production Supervisor and the Quality Manager of any defect or occurrence that could cause a quality problem in the manufacturing process and or any unsafe acts or conditions.
• Check the calibrations and proper labeling of the laboratory equipment in a daily manner.
• Analyze the product of the run on the production lines. Analyze and help determine the root cause of quality problems in the production line.
• Responsible of product segregation in “hold” that does not meet the specifications.  Must document and run compliance tests for final “release” or “discard”.
• Responsible of process production labels using accounting systems and report daily production per pallet.
• The employee must have to be available and avid to learn and extend new functions, including support for areas outside of their daily process.
• Ensure the organization and cleaning of the work area at the end of every shift.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Follow and ensure compliance of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the current Food Safety System.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use personal protective equipment at all times.
• Comply with the policies, procedures and processes established by Florida Can Manufacturing LLC.

 

What are we looking for?

 

• Associate degree in science preferred.
• At least one to two years of related experience required. 
• Analysis and self-learning capacity.
• Attention to details.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Be able to work weekends, overtime, holidays.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Sit, stand, and/or walk for periods of five hours or more, move and examine objects at high and low reach, and read for periods of three hours or more.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and regularly stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. This position also requires manual dexterity/fine motor skills.
• Ability to work up to twelve (12) hours shift, frequent overtime may also be required.

Hiring Salary Range: $ 20.00/Hr
