Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Supervise inspection/testing staff with emphasis on positive employee relations in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Maintain positive customer relations in executing inspection/testing operations.
• Observe and monitor inspection and test execution to ensure process and product conformance to requirements.
• Lead inspection/test to the successful completion while meeting the production and customer delivery schedules.
• Take appropriate countermeasures to assure delivery of an on-time & on-quality final product and final product test.
• Provide leadership, direction, support and training for inspection and test inspectors.
• Lead lean quality improvement team in meeting yearly improvement goals; communicates with the team manager on performance to plan.
• Oversees activities related to inspection and test inspectors including staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning.
• Practice 6S and assure department adherence to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.
• Train, implement and sustain lean manufacturing/quality principles by actively participating and at times leading Continuous Improvement events.
• Promote a culture of process control and quality excellence by providing effective leadership for problem solving, failure investigations, and implementing appropriate countermeasures. Support and make recommendations to improve company policies and procedures.
• Know HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and their impact in the workplace.

THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

• Perform other duties as assigned
• Supervise test equipment and tool inspections/calibration as required

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Associate's Degree in technical or business field with at least 5 years’ work experience in electrical testing in an electrical, utility, industrial and/or manufacturing setting or equivalent education and experience
• Developed timekeeping and coordination skills to effectively assign team members to takss
• Developed supervisory skills to lead teams and meet production schedule requirments
• General knowledge of electrical power systems
• General knowledge of inspection tools, instruments and equipment
• Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and business enterprise systems for entering/retrieving data, charts/graphs and some statistical analysis

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE

• Ability to use office equipment and tools, such as: PC, photocopier, fax machine, test equipment, quality instruments, digital camera, etc.
• Ability to read and understand design drawings and to use inspection tools such as tape measures, scales, levels, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane
• Ability to travel to domestic and international locations
• Ability to communicate with others to complete work assignments
• Ability to analyze data and develop accompanying reports
• Ability to work well with outside suppliers and service providers
