Quality Manager

This posting is for a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in the New York City metro area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enforce each Design-Build Contractor’s conformance with the relevant Design-Build Contract documents and implementation or quality assurance and quality control, including special inspections.
• Review each Design-Build Contractor’s quality program and each Design-Build Contractor’s key quality management personnel. Provide recommendations as appropriate.
• Review and approve all subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review and approve each Design-Build Contractor’s inspection and testing program documentation, including the control documents and procedures; quality work plans (“QWPs”); inspection checklists and records; and hold points and notification of hold point activity by work site.
• Ensure that a QWP for each definable feature of work (or one per specification section) is submitted for approval at least three weeks prior to the start of work and presented by each Design-Build Contractor’s and/or subcontractor’s quality team responsible for the work at the preparatory phase session.
• Ensure that each preparatory phase session includes a discussion of the QWP, checklists for each work activity, hold points, quality concerns and actions to mitigate each concern, expectations, and necessary records to be prepared and maintained.
• Verify that hold points are established and identified in the QWP for each first article or portion of work, including sample work or mock-ups.
• Manage the review submittals process.
• Oversee all pre-functional checks, inspections and tests including static tests, equipment start-up and verification of interlocks for all mechanical and electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience in quality and risk management, construction project management, or a related field.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, roads or tunnels. ($500M+)
• Proven experience coordinating with a project management team and providing appropriate levels of support, coaching and influence.  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.)  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• A current certification in Quality Management from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or a certified ISO-9001 Lead Auditor as recognized by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $60-$80 per hour ($124k-166k annually). The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate’s level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
