Quality Management Systems Specialist/Training Coordinator

About the role
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QMS Specialist:
- Maintain customer complaint process and ensure responses to customers are timely and accurate
- Track KPI related to customer complaints and provide insight to site leadership
- Coordinate with site leadership on root cause investigations (RCI) and track results for trend analysis
- Assist with creation of operating procedures, policies and forms for the Texas City Complex
- Maintain a library of all control documents for the terminal and ensure all employees can access library.
- Lead site internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance with all site and regulatory requirements.
Training Coordinator:
- Develop, plan, and implement technical training programs for field staff and new employees.
- Maintain training course materials to ensure information is always updated and available.
- Develop creative and innovative training programs for skill enhancement, performance improvement, career development, etc.
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes, etc.)
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
- Manage and maintain online training systems and ensure staff stays compliant with all training requirements.
- Ability to conduct and administer training material in a classroom setting and in the field.
- Inform employees on scheduled training and track their progress by maintaining employee training files, to include training testing, certification, and demonstration records in accordance with company retention requirements.
SUPERVISION:
- Oversight of contractor training.

- Ability to motivate the trainees to achieve high levels of performance.
- Ability to develop innovative ideas to meet the evolving organizational needs.
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and assess and analyze data.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
- Lift and carry – 35lbs.
- Climb vertical ladders and stairs.
- Agility – board a floating marine vessel from dock structure.
- Vision – correctable to 20/40.
- Sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Work in inclement weather for prolonged periods of time.
- Work in elevated areas such as top of equipment structures.
- May need to work overtime to conduct additional training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC).
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in education, business, finance, or any other relevant field or equivalent 5+ years’ experience in lieu of a four-year degree.
- Proven work experience in quality management, training coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role
- Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in an industrial setting.
- Experience with e-learning platforms
- Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Experience with ISO 9001 a plus
- Experience with technical writing a plus
