Success will be achieved through solid business partnerships. This role is the key conduit between the plant floor, site leadership and TCCC.
Job Description
This position is based in a Co-Manufacturing location in Central Florida. This role provides the Quality voice and experience to assure our CoMan facility follows all quality processes and produces products that meet specification as designed. This position leads the way to assure the on-going production of high quality and safe food products that comply with product design and meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate in this role will have experience in food manufacturing process and quality assurance with the ability to ensure the facility complies with specifications and quality standards.
What You’ll Do for Us
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of quality standards and capabilities, product specifications, processes, and performance for packaged products at the site.
- Support the successful commercialization of transitioned and innovation skus.
- Develop strategies, track implementation, evaluate and/or certify effectiveness of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems for the manufacturing facility.
- Support the sites efforts to develop robust quality systems, close Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) gaps and continually address audit findings.
- Work with the site to identify and implement processes to improve quality, as well as the ability to apply concepts to reduce process variation, improve quality, and optimize cost.
- Develop appropriate business-related reports to drive quality improvement across the site. This includes historical quality metrics and data to develop and track product quality and cost of quality failure.
- Act as quality expert and consultant by responding to targeted questions from the facility. This includes acting as a resource for general information and Company requirements. Additionally, acting as a consultant for other technical personnel in the Company to execute against the organization’s food safety and quality requirements.
- Conduct on-site audits of the manufacturing facility to confirm conformance to the principles, policies, standards, specifications, and requirements of the Company.
- Lead strategic problem solving; track or follow up on corrective action plans to ensure completion of all items in the specified time frame. Drive sustainable improvements to prevent reoccurring quality issues or disruptions at the manufacturing site.
- Make and/or assist site in creating presentations relevant to Company business. This can include reporting results and findings from assigned special projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Food Science, Engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical area such as plant quality leadership, R&D product development, laboratory management, quality systems, and/or engineering background.
- Knowledge of statistics, including fundamental analyses with the ability to demonstrated proven analytical skills resulting in decision making that protects the customer, consumer, and the brand. Knowledge of statistical databases such as InfinityQA preferable.
- Strong working knowledge with Quality Systems and implementation of Quality Systems. HACCP trained/ Package Quality Index (PCQI) trained preferable.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance Principles and Food safety
- Previous experience with project management, continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma
- Knowledge of manufacturing and process controls for beverage ingredient and packaging
- Protect information provided in confidence from outside sources and ensure this information is not disseminated to those not directly involved.
- Determine personal actions needed to satisfy a customer/client requirement.
- Establish strong and effective relationships with site leaders and employees to reach quality and food safety goals.
- Build and develop relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback on product/service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and/or achieve business results.
