Job Description
The Heatcraft factory in Stone Mountain, GA is hiring for a Quality Inspector on first shift (5:00am – 1:30pm, including overtime & weekends when required)
$21.65+ per hour starting base wage with ability to earn more based on experiance
Under direct supervision, inspects products and evaluates data to ensure quality.
Inspect product assemblies throughout production for compliance with drawings, production orders, inspection forms, and Critical to Quality (CTQ) documents.
Measure items for dimensional accuracy and perform functional checks per prints, parts manuals, standards, and specifications.
Approve or reject items, documenting inspection results, dispositions, and any defects in a database; suggest process improvements as needed.
Conduct routine product and process audits using prescribed checklists; ensure full adherence to CTQ documentation.
Train operators on CTQ characteristics and procedures.
Inspect incoming materials, purchased parts, and returned units for specification compliance and transit damage.
Remove defective materials from production; coordinate with the returns clerk for vendor-related issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
Effectively communicate issues via email, phone, or presentations, including visuals and attachments.
Support quality control in areas such as incoming material, process control, and product evaluation.
Maintain work area cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Requires a two-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to read assembly/part drawings
- Ability to use MS office software (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Must have the ability to work on multiple projects within the same day
- Must have the ability to learn and use new software
- Must have the ability to follow directions and work independently
