About the role

Summary

The Quality Engineer I position supports OE projects on a domestic basis and acts as a liaison between operation and quality group. This role is accountable for leading and developing training programs. The QE I role is also responsible for responding and handling internal quality complaints and nonconformities, assisting through the APQP, MSA, PPAP process. This position works with various groups and departments within the company’s manufacturing location through oral and written communications

Responsibilities

• Support PPAP Support In-house, Customer and supplier audits and track corrective actions to ensure completion. Able to explain or answer manufacturing process questions as it relates to the OE requirements. • Monitor and track In-house audit findings (e.g. action plan collection, action evaluation, status of completion of action plans.) • Lead In-house, nonconformance complaint resolution. Lead problem solving and root cause analysis, countermeasures draft and assessment, 8D reports and PPT preparation for resolving customer complaints • Achieve continuous improvement yearly targets, also promote brand image by focusing on work procedures quality aspect

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient in office software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc. • Planning and organizational skills • Understand and familiar with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 • Understand and familiar with APQP/PPAP/PFMEA/MSA/SPC/CP/FL/SOP • Familiar with tire manufacturing processes, common tire defects and corresponding cause analysis, and company quality standards

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering and/or experience level • 3- 7 Years’ experience with rubber industry preferred • Proficient in 7 QC tools and methods or tools like PDCA, 8D, lean six sigma, etc. • Extensive knowledge of PPAP, APQP, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and FMEA that will be used to generate and update key documentation to improve the production and logistics systems in support of the In-house, customers and suppliers and their requirements • Internal Quality Audit experience preferred TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: • 25% Continental U. S.
