Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure that products meet established quality standards, conduct tests, and maintain accurate documentation. This position plays a critical role in maintaining high levels of product quality and consistency, contributing to the company's overall success.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing:
  • Perform visual and physical inspections of materials, products, and components.
  • Conduct in-process and final product testing using established procedures, including but not limited to, measurements and chemical analysis.
  • Operate and calibrate lab equipment and instruments as necessary.
  • Quality Documentation:
  • Record test results, inspection data, and other relevant findings in the appropriate documentation (manual or digital formats).
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of quality control policies and procedures.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to product quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improving quality control processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new testing methods, equipment, or tools to enhance quality control procedures.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, R&D, and purchasing to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
  • Participate in regular quality meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.






Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current college student (preferred science major) or equivalent experience. 
  • Laboratory experience and reporting skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
  • Experience in data collection and interpretation and collecting and retrieving samples in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic math skills required. Must pass a basic math test administered during the hiring process.
  • Must pass a background check and drug testing (Florida Paints is a drug-free workplace). 


Physical Requirements 

The team member must be able to sit or stand for long periods. They are occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The team member must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
