We are seeking a talented and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our product quality standards.

 

Job Description:
As a Quality Control Supervisor at AkzoNobel, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team and managing processes to guarantee the delivery of products that meet our stringent quality standards. You will maintain and deploy our Quality Management System, proactively enhance it, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance. Your contributions will be instrumental in elevating our quality assurance practices and fostering a culture of excellence within our organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Management: Oversee the processes related to raw materials and final batch testing using established quality procedures to meet specifications.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate all Quality Control (QC) resources to meet the needs of both internal and external customers effectively.
  • Quality Standards: Ensure processes and standards are established and followed by QC employees to optimize batch adjustments/hits, with a clear escalation process if needed.
  • Quality Promotion: Promote the quality system within the team, ensuring adherence to quality elements, philosophy, and procedures.
  • Documentation and Verification: Maintain control over retained samples, technical information, and verification/calibration procedures.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I) to ensure adherence to New Product Introduction procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and systems to enhance and uphold manufacturing quality.
  • Training: Ensure all manufacturing employees are well-versed in quality philosophy, manual, and procedures, providing necessary training.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the performance and calibration of quality equipment, conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Audit Support: Support customer and internal audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and systems, such as ISO.
  • Certification Maintenance: Assist in maintaining quality certifications, such as ISO.
  • Reporting: Generate quality information by preparing reports and maintaining relevant records.
  • Communication: Provide assistance, advice, and information to customers, suppliers, sales, and internal departments regarding product quality.
  • Quality Philosophy: Actively promote and deploy ALPS foundations and ALPS Quality Management processes throughout the organization.
  • Compliance: Adhere to corporate, site, and laboratory policies/procedures related to personal conduct, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.

 

Level of Autonomy:
As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will have significant autonomy in making decisions related to batch adjustments, raw material rejections, Quality Control department operations, and budget management. Your ability to make sound judgments and swift decisions will be crucial to your success in this role.

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university is required, or 5+ years of production/manufacturing/quality experience.
Knowledge of quality assurance lab activities and procedures, along with technical knowledge of coatings.
Supervisor skills with 3+ years of experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and SAP.
