Salary range: $67K-$72K per year

Upon start date

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) plan beginning immediately

After 60 days employment

  • Health insurance plan (including vision insurance) with Health Savings Accounts (HSA). The premium is covered 100% by the company for employee-only coverage, plus dependent premiums are covered at a percentage. IV contributes to the HSA on your behalf and you can contribute as well.

Job Description

Manage the short and long-term operations associated with the Quality Control department to provide the highest quality products possible in a timely manner. Ensure that quality control processes are continually improved upon and provide assurance that products meet specifications and quality requirements. Ensure that QC production instruments are operating to specifications and that new instruments are validated in a timely manner. Responsible for the assignment of certified values, and the release of manufactured lots. Collaborate with the Internal R&D team on special projects and the sharing of company resources. Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, safety, and hazardous materials requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Quality Control department through the evaluation of staff, processes/procedures and workflow for increased effectiveness and efficiency. Oversee department operations to ensure adequate working capacity is maintained to meet market demand.
  • Approves stock products for release and assigns certified values.
  • Work collaboratively with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) to meet established quality objectives, and to ensure strict adherence to all appropriate governing bodies and guidelines, both internal and external.
  • Work collaboratively with Internal R&D to provide input on prospective and active projects.
  • Attend required meetings to ensure efficient communication.
  • Use knowledge and experience to provide technical assistance to staff and customers.
  • Evaluate necessary equipment and instrumentation for future purchases.
  • Partner with leadership team to align department with company vision, objectives, and strategies.
  • Monitor dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and raw data to track trends and take proactive action on department workflow. Advise leadership regarding resources needed for the department including materials, staffing, etc.
  • Help develop employees’ skills, knowledge, talent, and professional behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related field of study
  • A minimum of five years previous job-related experience in technical and supervisory work.
  • Working knowledge of ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, AA, balance calibration, wet assay methods, and glassware calibration
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory concepts and techniques
  • Working knowledge of the periodic table and lab safety guidelines and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and technical writing.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
  • Demonstrated history of working well both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify, track, and monitor KPIs and other metrics to track progress and overall health of the department and the company
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and direct the work of others in a positive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted supervisory practices and
