Job Summary:   

The primary purpose of this position is to perform routine laboratory systems and routine laboratory upkeep with compliance to GMPs and corporate standards.   

Primary Responsibilities/Activities: 

• Sample Management & Contract Laboratory Coordination 
  • Receive, log, label, and store raw materials, finished products, stability samples, and special request samples in accordance with established protocols. Oversee all contract laboratory activities, including sample submission, communication with external representatives, and evaluation of testing capabilities. Track sample progress from submission through test completion using Excel-based tools, document Certificate of Analysis (COA) results, and maintain accurate records to support compliance and reporting. 
• Documentation & Compliance 
  • Revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications, and other GMP documentation as needed.
  • Review laboratory logbooks for equipment usage and sample login to ensure accurate and compliant GMP documentation. 
  • Ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are current and accessible within the company’s MSDS system in collaboration with corporate safety personnel. 
• Purchasing & Inventory Management 
  • Request quotes, negotiate discounts, and place orders for laboratory supplies, chemicals, reagents, standards, and equipment while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Create purchase requisitions and complete expense reports related to laboratory and contract testing costs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure adequate stock levels of chemicals, reagents, standards, and consumables to support uninterrupted laboratory operations. 

• Hazardous Waste & Safety Oversight 
  • Manage the hazardous waste satellite accumulation area, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal of expired or depleted chemicals and reagents.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel for timely replacement and disposal of hazardous waste containers.
  • Verify and dispose of expired solvents, mobile phases, and test solutions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily safety checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards such as spills, obstructions, or fire risks. 

• Laboratory Maintenance & Support 
  • Clean and organize laboratory storage areas monthly to support efficient workflows.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of laboratory equipment, including pipette wash stations and desiccant replacements.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
  • Serve as the Chemical Hygiene Officer for the QC lab, including conducting annual chemical inventory updates.

 Qualifications: 

• Education: Bachelor of Science desired or experience in administrator duties in lieu of education    

• Specialized knowledge or training: GMP Requirements for Pharmaceutical Laboratories.  Notebook documentation standard, calculations and reporting standards. 

• Microsoft Excel and Word experience required. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Be able to lift 20 pounds.
