POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing, inspecting, and evaluating raw materials, in-process samples, and finished ink, pigment, and coating products to ensure they meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate data, identifying nonconformities, and contributing to continuous improvement in product quality and consistency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform routine and non-routine testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished inks, pigments, and coatings using standardized test methods.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments.
- Record, analyze, and interpret test results, maintaining detailed and accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with ISO and internal QA procedures.
- Approve or reject materials and finished batches based on test results and specifications.
- Communicate test outcomes promptly to Production, R&D, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues or deviations.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation for quality incidents.
- Support color matching and batch adjustment under supervision when required.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety compliance, and adherence to environmental and chemical handling regulations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency, reduce waste, and optimize testing efficiency.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Possess good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Need sense of urgency and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- 1-3 years of experience in quality control
