HOURS:   8:45pm-5:15am Hours will vary 

WAGE:    $23.95 per hour 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Q.A. technicians report to and derive their authority from the Q.A. Supervisor/Lead Person.  This individual has the authority to take action as necessary to carry out appointed duties. 

 

POSITION DUTIES:  

  • Batter tests. 

  • Net weights. 

  • Product temperature checks (frozen / fully cooked). 

  • Box counts / Portion weight checks.  

  • Boneless product inspection. 

  • Inedible dock checks. 

  • Scale / Metal Detector checks. 

  • General record keeping / filing. 

  • Bone and contamination reports. 

  • Verify monitors tests to satisfy HACCP. 

  • Sample collection for bacti / prep and fat moisture. 

  • Formulation checks / marination checks/ brine checks. 

  • Returned product inspection / paperwork. 

  • FFA oil tests (able to differentiate colors). 

  • Cooler checks. 

  • Assist with receiving inspection. 

  • Tolerant of extended periods of time standing / walking and variation in environment (temperatures, humidity, flour, etc.).                                                     

  • Bug light checks (weekly) / Rodent trap checks(inside / outside(monthly)). 

  • Thermometer calibration checks. 

  • Sanitation inspections (inside/outside). 

  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Inspection of incoming chicken for company specifications. 

  • Check of sized products. 

  • Collect samples for bacteria tests and fat & moisture tests. 

  • Poultry net weight checks on incoming chicken. 

  • Reporting of meat inspection results. 

  • Inspect incoming dry ingredients. 

  • Record keeping pertaining to receiving. 

  • Label incoming skids with proper accept/reject labels. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to varying temperatures from warm to cold, some heavy lifting, dust, noise, slippery floors.  Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent.  Must pass physical abiliuties evaluation for this position.  Math test will be administered to applicants who have never previously been tested. Computer knowledge and the ability to work well with other departments is beneficial.  Certified power jack operator or willing to become certified.  Self motivated, quality minded, reliable individual. Must be able to work with little supervision.  Ability to use paging/mobile phone system. Strict confidentiality a must.
