What You'll Do

Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.  

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Management of construction field activity:

  • In cooperation with the site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) organization, accountable for securing safe work permits for contractors, ensuring all applicable daily permits are in place before the start of work, and monitoring compliance with required permits throughout the day.

  • Includes daily management of contractor field resources

  • Working with the site Construction Manager to manage work priority to ensure commissioning milestones are met on assigned project(s)

  • Weekly meeting with project stakeholders to share construction progress

  • Troubleshooting concerns as they come up in the field

  • QA/QC document generation and management.

  • Coordinating inspections and conducting quality checks throughout the construction process to identify and resolve issues.

  • Ensuring adherence to safety and health regulations, as well as compliance with building codes and standards

  • Monitoring project documentation and ensuring all work complies with the project's requirements.

  • Collaborating with project managers and engineers to address quality issues and improve project outcomes.

  • Review and comment on construction contractor closeout packages

  • Act as owner representative and advise GE Aerospace Project Teams during review of contractor QA/QC documents

  • Assure appropriate QA/QC documents are cataloged and filed in the appropriate project folder(s) and/or repositories for future reference.

  • Recommend QA/QC best practices to contractors and GE personnel working on assigned project(s)

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.  

Licensing: No licensing is required for this position.  

Experience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
