QA Analyst – Star Wars Hunters

 

BossAlien is an award-winning developer of mobile games based in Brighton, UK, and we're excited to expand our team in Austin, TX! We are searching for the next passionate QA Analyst to help us build a best-in-class Star Wars experience.

This QA Analyst will work with developers in one of Zynga’s first action studios in North America. This Analyst will be core to the processes, release pipelines, and gameplay modes of Star Wars: Hunters. The policies and standards you edit, build, and improve will be definitive to the player's experience.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the process of making games and loves the online shooter genre. You are disciplined and experienced, able to answer questions from a variety of sources and speak with authority not just on game systems but player expectations. You thrive on working with creative, hard working people towards a shared goal. You work best as part of a team, supporting and supported by your teammates.

Job purpose:

The Quality Analyst works with the QA Lead and development staff and is responsible for the project’s quality across all platforms. They plan and execute tests that build confidence and reduce risk. They provide support to internal and external development teams while ensuring timely delivery of features at quality. They communicate issues with efficiency and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

You will develop new test standards, platform requirements, and QA processes. You will evaluate, adapt, and improve existing QA processes. You will coordinate with test teams on passes for critical quality benchmarks. You will build and update documentation as appropriate, and you will be the point of contact for one or more features of the game.

You will distribute game builds to testers, respond to developer requests and needs, and schedule test passes. You will respond to requests from external partners for builds or testing resources. You will investigate issues with the game and related services, reporting your results to the rest of the team. To ensure test coverage maintenance, you will communicate any feature changes upward to QA Leadership throughout the life cycle of the project.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• At least 1 year professional experience with testing games
• Test planning and execution
• An understanding of development and testing methodologies
• Ability to establish, assess and continually improve QA processes
• Able to self-manage, prioritize, and multi-task
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience & Skills:

• Agile practices and processes
• Industry standard game editors
• Industry-standard QA tools such as Test Rail, JIRA and Confluence
