Python Developer- Linux Systems | Data Acquisition and Process Support | Experienced Hire

Overview

Susquehanna is currently looking for an experienced Developer to join our Data Acquisition and Distribution team. This team is responsible for the engineering, development and maintenance of all enterprise data processing technologies for the firm.

 

You will have the opportunity to work directly with technical and business teams to analyze their data needs and develop solutions for our data acquisition infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is excited to join our efforts as we evolve, evaluate and promote newer technologies within this space across our firm globally.

 

In this role, you will:• Design, develop, and maintain solutions using Python and Linux-based systems.• Develop scripts and tools to automate system tasks and processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing software applications and systems, addressing any issues that arise.• Recommend solutions for improvement and standardization.• Assist with file transfer infrastructure enhancements, bug fixes and testing new features.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.• 1-2 years of experience with design and development using Python and shell scripting. • Experience with shell scripting, and Python programming required• Experience with Unix/Linux required.• Knowledge of relational database technologies is a plus.• Knowledge of cloud technologies a plus.• Must be willing to work early morning support schedule (shifts may start as early as 6:00am).• Exposure to multiple file formats, file transfer protocols and managing large data sets in a fast-paced environment• Willingness and ability to work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle• A collaborative, team-oriented approach and an analytical mindset• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment• Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines including technology, support and business teams• Financial services or market knowledge is a plus.
