Purchasing Engineer*3

Duties & Responsibilities

1)     Material Purchasing & Inventory Optimization 50% 

A)      Analyze MRP output and PRs, issue orders out to suppliers and get order confirmation at regulated time, and have it maintained well in SAP system.

B)     Ensure on time delivery of materials, equipment and MRO items to meet production requirements in Shenzhen

C)    Prepare and follow up payment, report the problem

D)    Report material shortage and actions to close the gap

E)     Report on material excess or obsolete, over purchase, and action to take to prevent or reduce E&O or over purchase

2) Supplier Management 20% 

A)     Cost effectively place PO with right delivery date and right step price.

B)     Cleary understand suppliers constrains such as capacity, material supply, yield issue etc. to take proactive action to eliminate the supply risks.

Quarterly supplier performance appraisal, joint with QA Dept to solve quality problem with supplier and request for continuous improvement

3) New Supplier Sourcing 15% 

A)     Seek new supplier source for supply security, cost reduction, localization or quality improvement.

4) Human Resources / Administrative     5%  A)     Department information systems, records, reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time

B)     Company policy is followed regarding all safety, environmental, quality and ergonomic requirements.

C)    Company Technology Control Plan, IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.

D)    Relevant SOX, IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.

E)     Responsible for maintaining a quality work environment.

F)     Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others.

G)    Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.

H)    A high standard of ethics, professionalism, competency, and quality is established and maintained.

I)      Role model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Business Results.

5) Special Assignments   10% 

A)   Support special projects as required.

B)     Report on projects and make recommendations to upper Management.

Qualification & Requirements

Education:    

 •      Bachelor degree or above with a major in science and technology or economics related discipline

Experience:  

 •      2 years or above purchasing and sourcing experience for overseas supplied material under a manufacturing environment, preferred in communication devices, electronics, integrated circuit related industry. Recent graduates can also be considered if it’s demonstrated excellent during previous internship or part-time job.

•       Experience with problem analysis and resolution

•       Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others 

•       Ability to recommend and implement improvements

•       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•       Experience with networked PC based computer systems

Special Skills:       

•      Fluent oral/written English, Negotiation skill, Sensibility of cost saving, Communication skill.

•       Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities

•       Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment

•       Handle special assignments promptly and professionally
