The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Psychology Associate. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.


Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

 

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Meet with interdisciplinary team members to identify behavior treatment needs for members; prepare suggested goals, objectives, and strategies as part of behavior treatment plan development; interpret written summary descriptions of all evaluations; and write behavior treatment plans. Participates in the development of the member's person-centered plan.  

  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff, other direct care staff, and providers in implementing behavior treatment plans, including methods for implementation and data collection in specific areas.  

  • Monitor implementation of behavior treatment plans; report to the interdisciplinary team regarding member's progress or lack thereof to determine the need to modify the behavior treatment plan. Modify behavior treatment plan as directed by the interdisciplinary team and approved by the PRC.  

  • Interpret, graph, and report monthly progress summary to the interdisciplinary team.  Assist in presentation of each member's plan to the Program Review Committee (PRC) for approval.   

  • Accompany members to Psychiatric appointments and provides a written summary of each member’s target and alternative behaviors, since the last appointment as contained in their behavior treatment plan. Also provides a list of current medications and medical conditions. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in: 

  • Federal and State statutes and agency policies and procedures relating to the care and assistance for individuals with developmental disabilities. State budget and planning process. Local, state, and federal resources. 

  • Behavior Treatment Plan development, training, and monitoring. 

  • Arizona Administrative Code (MC) Title 6, Chapter 6, Article 9. 

  • Principles of Positive Behavior Support. 

  • Developmental disabilities and principles applicable for provision of vocational and educational services to this population. 

 

Skills In: 

  • Oral and written communication. 

  • Interpersonal relations. 

  • Using various computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, etc.). 

  • Problem resolution.
