Propane Driver Weekends Required

Description

Propane Driver responsibilities are to safely load, transport, and unload propane promptly and efficiently in order to serve DHT customers’ needs in the New Albany, MS region. This position requires at least one weekend day a week to be worked.

Up to $5000 sign on bonus based on experience.

Propane Driver Essential Duties:

• Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker

• Use permanent hoses attached to the filling ports or the hoses stored in the truck to unload the tanker

• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods

• Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirements at the end of each shift

• Operates a powered industrial vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws

• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations

• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals

• Assists with loading and unloading of materials, using specialized equipment when warranted

• Maintains work orders, invoices, shipping bills, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to appropriate staff

• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing at terminals and with Dispatch, Drivers, vendors, and customers

• Facilitates routine service on trucks, reports maintenance malfunctions to appropriate parties

• Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns

• Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes

• Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy

Propane Driver Compensation Package:

• Competitive pay starting at $25/hr based on experience and qualifications

Requirements

• Licensed CDL Class A license with clean MVR
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• X and T endorsement
• Mon-Fri schedule; mandatory weekend availability during busy season, 70 hour run during busy season
• Position is not guaranteed home nightly but possible at times
• Work in other divisions maintaining the schedule you are used to
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable bulk propane driving experience
• Current possession of, or ability to obtain, an Alabama loading certification

Propane Driver Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds

• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen

• Must be able to pass a DOT physical
