Prompt Engineer

 

United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), the leading wholesale mortgage lender in the nation, is seeking a talented and experienced Prompt Engineer to join our innovative AI team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), specifically in designing and refining prompts for large language models (LLMs). As a Prompt Engineer, you will bridge the gap between human needs and AI capabilities by crafting prompts that elicit accurate, relevant, and high-quality responses from AI systems, ultimately enhancing our mortgage-related AI solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Create and refine text prompts to guide AI systems toward desired outputs for various tasks, such as text generation, translation, question answering, and creative writing

• Develop prompts that enhance the performance and reliability of AI models in the mortgage industry

• Continuously test prompts to assess their effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve performance

• Utilize data-driven approaches to evaluate prompt outcomes and refine strategies accordingly.

• Analyze prompt performance data to understand how different prompts impact AI behavior and outcomes

• Generate insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize prompts for specific use cases

• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI technology and prompt engineering techniques.

• Experiment with new prompt strategies and technologies to drive innovation in mortgage AI solutions

• Help users interact with AI systems more effectively by refining prompts and improving the overall user experience

• Tailor prompts to recognize the capabilities and limitations of AI models, ensuring realistic and relevant interactions

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and best practices for prompt engineering

• Share knowledge and insights with team members and stakeholders to promote effective prompt engineering practices

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in prompt engineering, NLP, or AI model optimization

• Proven experience in designing and refining prompts for LLMs

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to stay updated with the latest AI advancements and apply them effectively

Nice To Have:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field

• Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and AI/ML tools

• Knowledge of ethical considerations in AI and prompt engineering
