Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
I. Position Summary:
As a part of Project Search, facilitates the training and integration of a student with disabilities in a worksite rotation and/or competitive work environment.
II. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Decision Making:
- Provides individualized support and positive reinforcement for student at the host business worksite rotation or competitive job which includes: job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology, etc.
- Communicates effectively with Project SEARCH Instructor, other job coaches, employers, co-workers, family members, and school and agency personnel as it relates to the student being trained and to the success of the student once on the job.
- Perform specific job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
- Trains students in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior as they relate to successful employment.
- Provides travel training to job site if necessary.
- Attends training provided by school district personnel to become knowledgeable of strategies and current “best practices” in the field of supported employment.
- Submits and completes appropriate job coaching paperwork.
- Recognizes and acts on the legal responsibilities concerning the safety and welfare of the consumers.
III. Qualifications, Background, and Experience Required or Desired:
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and an overall positive attitude.
- Utilizes sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Is an excellent communicator.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA laws.
IV. Education, Certifications, or Licenses Required or Desired:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in supporting youth and adults with disabilities preferred.
V. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
- No.
VI. Work Environment:
- Typical office environment.
- Client job site which varies.
VII. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see, drive, hear, use hands, sit for long periods of time at a computer.
