Project Manager/Product Lead

Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain AI-enhanced search capabilities across the DoD's CDAO Search Portfolio, including GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and the new YETI semantic search API. As Project Manager/Product Lead, you will coordinate product backlogs and manage user requirements for Agile development teams implementing AI-enabled search capabilities.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  Must be within 50-mile radius of Washington DC metro area (Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington). 

 

Responsibilities

 

• Identify and balance needs of key users and stakeholders
• Synthesize requirements into user stories and product backlogs
• Coordinate across development teams to maintain product velocity
• Analyze and recommend technical and business approaches
• Support agency teams in milestone and deliverable management
• Stay current with AI system architectures and trends
• Develop plans, roadmaps, and software design strategies
• Document reference architectures and compliance standards

 

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree + 5-7 years' experience OR Master's degree + 3 years' experience
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework
• Experience grooming and prioritizing SCRUM team backlogs
• DevSecOps experience and knowledge of CI/CD tooling
• Experience working with containerized environments
• Experience with distributed computing (Apache Spark/Databricks)
• Knowledge of modern software architectures and front-end frameworks
• Strong track record of active learning and creative problem solving
