The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager for SCADA engineering/construction projects related to Solar, BESS, or Wind. As leader of the project team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the project in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with requirements and standards as set forth in the project contract(s) for medium-to-large size projects. This will be a challenging role in which you will be involved in the engineering and design scope of the project from initiation through close-out. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out of complex, multi-discipline projects. The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects. This position is open to remote or in-person locations in the US and Canada.
What You’ll Do
Project Management
- Provide strategic project management leadership for large and complex projects
- Lead medium-to-large related to Solar, BESS, or Wind SCADA projects from initiation through close-out.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, including scope, stakeholder management, schedule, budget, and quality; related to Solar, BESS, or Wind SCADA projects.
- Lead internal and external project meetings, including progress reviews and problem-solving sessions.
- Develop and implement project plans, including risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Ensure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the project
- Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, understanding consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectives
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as point of contact for clients, regularly updating project status and addressing any concerns, issues, or risks.
- Manages a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule, and cost
- Lead overall project – coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Foster and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders encountered throughout the course of work
- Work collaboratively with the Project Coordinators and Project Controls Specialists to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to plan.
- Maintain customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig in a professional and courteous manner.
Schedule & Cost Planning
- Ensure that project timelines are maintained and milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule, along with keeping the project plan up-to-date.
- Monitor and control project budgets to prevent overspending.
- Keep track of all financial transactions related to the project.
- Monitor and control project costs.
Project Reporting & Compliance
- Monitor ongoing project health and track key metrics.
- Adhere to Ulteig governance policies and procedures for project success.
Team Effectiveness

- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that technical aspects of the project are properly managed.

What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering field, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5-7 years of direct project management experience, with at least 3-5 years in a SCADA engineering environment.
- Advanced technical engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- PMP, PE, or higher/equivalent certification preferred.
