Job Description

The Project Manager Level III at Convergint Federal

 is responsible for managing projects from initiation to completion. This role involves planning, executing, and overseeing all project activities, ensuring efficient communication with clients and stakeholders, and driving projects to successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets based on client requirements.
    • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external vendors to define project scope, deliverables, and milestones.
    • Forecast labor, vendor, subcontractor costs, and other direct costs (ODCs), and maintain project budgets and work-in-progress (WIP).
    • Create and manage project schedules, including milestone/progress payment schedules.
    • Create, submit, and maintain weekly or bi-weekly meeting agendas, minutes, and status reports (weekly or monthly).
    • Coordinate project deliverables and documentation, ensuring compliance with quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Project Execution:
    • Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to deliver successful project outcomes.
    • Conduct subcontractor negotiations, issue and maintain purchase orders, and approve subcontractor invoices.
    • Manage project risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential issues.
    • Track progress and report on key performance indicators, updating stakeholders regularly.
    • Submit deliverables and invoicing through RMS, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Create and submit detailed reports, including monthly man-hour reporting and project status updates.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, schedules, and financial records.
    • Review and submit Requests for Information (RFIs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), and service orders.
    • Submit Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans (QASP), O&M manuals, cybersecurity artifacts, and other compliance documents.
  • Site Visits & Customer Engagement:
    • Attend and coordinate project kick-offs, site surveys, progress meetings, and quarterly site visits with clients (CEHNC, PVT).
    • Schedule and oversee customer training, ensuring completion of sign-offs.
    • Create and submit warranty letters and track warranty claims to resolution.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Project Close-Out:
    • Oversee the final invoicing and submission of the Record of Completion (RoC).
    • Ensure the submission of As-built drawings and final project documentation.
    • Conduct CPAR self-assessments and ensure all contract closeout requirements are met.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of project management experience in a technical environment, ideally within electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, or AV systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience, including team leadership and cross-functional coordination.
  • PMP Certification and/or industry-specific certifications.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in government contracting and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Knowledge of IT networking principles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
