With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. We are looking for a Lab Operations Project Manager who will be responsible for the coordination of projects within our labs and with partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for tracking and managing progress on clinical laboratory projects; including but not limited to new assay development and lab process changes/improvements
- Develop detailed project plans for new initiatives that are generated by new internal and external requests
- Lead well organized collaborative cross-functionally meetings to collect and document scope, requirements, risks and timelines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that deadlines are adhered to; communicate and problem solve roadblocks as necessary
- Ensure that appropriate time and resources are dedicated to support laboratory projects
- Establish effective communication plans and communicate directly with various internal and external partners to understand, define, and communicate progress on projects
- Develop firm understanding of internal lab processes and databases
- Build and maintain effective relationships which create a high level of trust across multiple functions at Tempus
- Respond to inquiries by phone, email and in person quickly and professionally
Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree, preferably in Biological Sciences or similar
- Understanding of formal project management methodologies
- Project management certification preferred (PMP)
- Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, GMP, NYS and FDA regulations and requirements
- Experience working in a Clinical Laboratory or Medical Device industry preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and minimum 3 years project management experience (i.e. familiar with project management tools; such as Smartsheets, MS Project, Coda, Jira, as well as Google Suite and Microsoft Office products
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate across functions and teams
- Highly attention to detail and ability to complete projects on time with a high degree of accuracy and attention to quality
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, multi-task and exceptional contributor in a fast paced environment
- Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly
