Project Manager

The Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI2) is a non-profit research institute in Seattle founded by Paul Allen. The core mission of (AI2) is to contribute to humanity through high-impact AI research and engineering. 

AI2 is looking for a Project Manager for a 90 day assignment. Expected hours are 20 to 30 hours per week. The focus of the work will be expanding the UKG (HRIS) database to include all individuals using AI2 resources. Other projects will be assigned as time permits.

Scope of Work: 

  • Assist CFO with project management and do project management.
  • Develop timelines and schedules for the project.
  • Do data entry as needed or upload data as needed to the HRIS.
  • Schedule meetings and do discovery with team members to make sure we understand all the requirements for the addition of these individuals to the HRIS software.
  • Help the CFO and the team get this project completed.
  • Assist work with drafting work flows and desk procedures.
  • Work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Concurrently perform multiple assignments and self-manage schedule to determine workflow timing and duration.
  • Effectively communicate, both written and oral, with other company personnel.

  • Software/systems experience.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and analytical in approach to tasks.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with limited supervision.
  • Ability to effectively respond to requests or questions from managers and colleagues in both written and oral form.
  • High degree of flexibility and customer service attitude..

Preferred

  • An understanding of systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Experience working with 501c3 Organizations

Education/experience/certifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and two plus years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Occasionally required to remain seated in a normal position for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to walk short distances
  • Regularly required to maintain balance while walking, standing, crouching, or running.
  • Routinely required to reach up and out with hands and arms.
