Job Description

As a key member of the engineering team, the Project Manager reports to the Project Management Manager and is responsible for executing multifaceted projects with our customers. This position is the primary customer contact and is also responsible for leading, planning and administering multiple complex projects (Typically $5 MM plus) through completion to drive targeted margins while building and maintaining professional relationships with our customers. This position coordinates between the customer, sales, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure the project results meet the customer's technical and lead time requirements. This position understands our machine standards strategy, delivers leading application design and project management services. The individual in this position will leverage customer relationships to influence project success and future business and will provide leadership to the project teams. 

The position will be based at our headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina and requires occasional to moderate travel to customer sites.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead creation of project schedule, resource planning, and critical milestones to meet project deadlines.
  • Autonomously monitor progress of projects against the project schedule and effectively communicate to the team; including, communication regarding any changes in schedule that may impact the customer.
  • Proactively identify any project risk and provide recommendations to mitigate impacts, including communication to key stakeholders.
  • Identify, communicate, and process change order requests and assist with price preparation, planning and schedule alignment.
  • Partner with key account customers thru a collaborative process to facilitate design review meetings, quality assurance requirements, contract issues, and obtains acceptance by the client of equipment and systems.
  • Manage aftermarket/equipment engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with Operations to understand and implement our standardization strategy and ensure that our standards are in line with our key opportunities.
  • Support the development of an accurate forecast and outlook for projects on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Assist the department in maintaining backlog, schedule, and meeting overall commercial and execution timelines.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support customer visits.
  • Establishes requirements for project completion (punch list.)  Obtains client’s acceptance (release authorization) and final payment.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and service personnel to meet critical deadlines.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports and schedule updates.
  • Present project reviews to management, as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives which achieve results consistent with company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant project management or engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results autonomously within a team environment and to gain
