POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State is currently seeking a Project Manager in supporting Annual Giving, a key fundraising office for development. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager of External Engagement and working closely with Annual Giving, as well as other partners, this project manager will:

  • Lead the project management efforts for the Office of Annual Giving
  • Develop timelines for Annual Giving fundraising campaigns and ensure timely completion of projects;
  • Work in concert with the External Engagement project management staff;
  • Act as a liaison with Development Communications;
  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications;

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience planning projects and utilizing project management software such as Workfront;
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
  • The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues;
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;
  • A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in annual giving, advancement, or nonprofit fundraising.
  • Familiarity with higher education fundraising structures and centralized/decentralized fundraising models.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing campaign calendars.
  • Knowledge of donor communications and multi-channel solicitation strategy.
