The Project Manager Construction and Commissioning (PMCC) is responsible for preparing and controlling the different phases of field operations for a project. This role is crucial to ensure that site works are completed safely, at the required quality standards, on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction sites management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in site work Strategy definition with the Project Director and Construction leader
- Build the project financial and physical progress tracking structure for site works and update monthly.
- Perform the Site schedule weekly updates for planned vs. actual progress in collaboration with the site manager and project planner
- Coordinate communications across the project teams to secure project planning and execution
- Participate in customer meetings
- Identify the Scope management changes for site works and provide oversight to team stakeholders for quantity and quality impacts
- Track the project site documentation for a timely issuance to the customer (methods, site quality plan, commissioning reports, etc.)
- Proactively engage in risk mitigation and opportunity assessment
- Prepare the Request for Quotations and Purchase Requests for site works subcontracting
- Manage specific vendor packages at site (piping, painting, machining, etc.)
- Prepare the detailed mobilization planning using framework documentation and checksheets, and ensuring that resources loading requirements are met as required
- Lead the mobilization tollgate review representing C&C in all the project related reviews
- Proactively anticipate the activities required for site mobilization, including tooling definition, safety equipment, warehousing requirements, offices infrastructures, worker’s accommodations, and define the required specific site trainings
- Prepare and lead the site demobilization at the end of the project
Required Qualifications:
- Strong and demonstrated EHS culture
- Attention to quality management and continuous improvement of quality culture
- College or bachelor’s degree in management or engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) is recommended, or relevant proven field experience
- Field management experience
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal (English)
- Leadership skills
- Availability to travel within USA and/or Canada,
- 10+ years in project management organization in Construction or Commissioning
Desired Characteristics:
- Project Management Certification
- Experience with technical concepts (including hydropower technology, i.e., turbines, generators, mechanical and electrical balance of plant systems, etc.)
- Location: USA, preferred west or east coasts
