Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Position Summary:

The Project Information Manager (PIM) Development analyst is responsible for all software development activities within the Information Management System (IMS), which will be a shared environment for Westinghouse, Bechtel, and the Owner to manage, control and organize project information required to execute the project through all phases of design, construction, start up, commissioning, and turnover, consistent with project contractual and Employer Information Requirements.

 

The IMS is an essential element of a successful large, complex projects. It facilitates design configuration control while enabling relevant project information exchange and access among multiple stakeholders.

Business data integration to the Project IMS, from the stakeholder authoring tools, will be implemented where necessary for the benefit of the overall project execution and handover for operations.

 

While both Bechtel and Westinghouse may use their own internal tools for project development; the Execution phase of the project will require a fully integrated suite of tools and associated configuration that can merge business data across organizational boundaries, and with internal and external stakeholders. Westinghouse and Bechtel will share responsibility for ensuring the virtual design (including selection of the 3D modelling tool, integration of the full 3D model, management of the common configuration, and delivery to the customer), the Building Information Management (BIM) approach for the project, while also ensuring the model/business data/tool integration meet the standards expected of modern-day project delivery.

 

The Development analyst will work within the Project Information Management (PIM) team to facilitate the integration of systems and data environments between Bechtel and Westinghouse to ensure productivity efficiencies are maintained for the project. In doing so, the development analyst will also work with teams within the project them to develop and assist systems to automate and enhance internal work processes. The development analyst will take direction from the Project Information Manager or their delegate.
