Project Estimator ll

We are searching for a Project Estimator ll on behalf of our client  This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2)   The person will be in the Estimating Group within the Engineering & Construction Division. This position will be filled by an individual with some experience in estimating or construction.

 

The Project Estimator II will be a key member of the inventive and vibrant preconstruction estimating team and will support design of projects for the client. The ideal candidate has some experience in estimating, a preliminary understanding of construction means and methods, a preliminary understanding of construction requirements and basic project management skills. In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams involved in project development, planning, engineering, and execution to develop project estimates and improve estimating tools.

 

This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. CapEx models include all engineering, material, direct construction, and indirect construction costs. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process.

The person will be leading the preparation of estimate and the development of pricing models.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares capital cost estimates
• Review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate
• Coordinate and interface on a regular basis with other departments to ensure communication and understanding of proposal/project objectives and the most efficient and productive utilization of resources
• Review layouts, designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate
• Remains current with technology and industry evolution in order to assure that project capital estimates anticipate the correct market conditions
• Establish, build and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Experience: Transmission Estimator with 3+ years of experience in the field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in the following Fields of Study

• Engineering – Mechanical
• Engineering – Civil
• Construction Science
• Construction Management

 

Experience:1+ years in estimating or construction on large, heavy civil projects in the power market sector

• Strong preference for candidates with previous experience in renewables.
