Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization.
What You Will Do:
- Apply Project Engineering skills: detailed task planning and tracking, budget management and ownership, earned value management (EVMS) - coordinating Operations and manufacturing teams, integration of technologies into product lines, participating in investigations and corrective actions.
- Support activities and technologies related to military gas turbine hardware. Hardware responsibilities include components found in the fan and compressor modules.
- Collaborate with the Cold Section Engineering (CSE) Organization to support and lead cross-functional teams responsible for the design, fabrication, and repair of fan and compressor static section hardware.
- Achieve objectives within schedule and budget constraints, and driving continuous improvement is highly valued.
- Travel less than 5%.
What You Will Learn:
- Officiate meetings. Take minutes and follow up with team members for action item completions or roadblocks.
- Agile scrum-leader role for project management.
- Partner with suppliers to quote and produce development hardware.
- Learn design and fabrication of fan and high compressor stator hardware.
- Construct technical presentations and report to customers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics(STEM) and 2 years of related experience such as process planning, project engineering, design engineering, and structures engineering.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
- Experience in a military program environment related to hardware design and development.
- US Government security clearance.

Department/Segment Overview: Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repair substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.
