We are looking for a Project Engineer with a strong acumen for design to become a key member of our project management team. In this role, you will be expected to evaluate and develop architectural solutions and products based on project constraints, translate an architect’s design intent into reality, demonstrate a passion for making things, have a keen eye for detail, and be a skilled communicator.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize CAD to develop models, CNC programs and simulations to help fabricate and validate designs using Solidworks, Rhino and other software packages.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines including but not limited to architects, designers, programmers, fabricators, and assemblers, to ensure proper communication and understanding of design intents.
  • Understanding and applying real world manufacturing capabilities to part designs to balance "form vs function"
  • Utilize rapid prototyping and other fabrication means to mockup designs and test efficacy.
  • Create necessary files and drawings to support production runs.
  • Support and direct production team members during the production phase of a project and troubleshoot/solve potential issues as they arise.
  • Perform first article quality checks of fabricated parts and assemblies to confirm design requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from production teams to improve designs.
  • Explore and test new manufacturing methods and improve processes.
  • Develop fixtures and other manufacturing aids.
  • Utilize automation routines to expedite workflow and minimize human error.
  • Train Arktura staff on the use and manufacture of new products, product improvements and custom solutions.
  • Manage multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Create and maintain fabrication, training, and QC documentation.
  • Create and maintain BOM’s, CPQ rulesets, database documents, and product numbers using ERP software.

  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • LA local candidates preferred. 

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in design, architecture or mechanical engineering; bachelor's degree preferred. Additional years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have 2-4 years’ experience with AutoCAD.
