About the role

The project engineer manages budgets between $50K and $10,000,000s to improve safety, quality and production capacity at the Belle Mead plant. Capacity projects can occur in all facilities areas including Processing, Packaging, Facilities and Offices.  In addition to capacity, process upgrades are required to produce New Product introductions to the market. Project management skills will be perfected running team meetings using timelines, Preparing User Required Specifications and providing project team meeting minutes.  This job can be a platform for future roles in RB Manufacturing and can also increase knowledge in different processing platforms for hygiene liquid and aerosols.

 

The project engineer selects equipment (provides URS for equipment and room design)), performs Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Installs Equipment/Building, manages contractor safety management for their project, performs installation and operational validation and turns equipment over to operations. There is a detailed project methodology that project engineers follow.

Your responsibilities

  • Proposes process design and layout to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Prepares Capital Expenditure Requests for new processing equipment, managing budget control for complete project.
  • Coordinates the installation and start-up of new equipment with operators, contractors and vendors.  Revises engineering drawings to incorporate changes.
  • Prepares work specifications and negotiates contracts for work to be performed by outside contractors.  Coordinates/directs work of outside contractors to insure quality completion of project and adherence to all applicable codes, regulations, laws and plant policies including OSHA, FM Global, and RB Contractor Management
  • Designs and implements processing systems that comply with specified safety and quality criteria, managing projects from start to finish including system validation.
  • Drives root cause analysis and failures with implementation of all corrective and preventative actions
  • Can perform IQ/OQ of equipment and infrastructure.

The skills for success

  • B.S. Engineering Discipline  
  • Minimum >5 years’ experience in leading capital projects preferably in FMCG.
  • Ability to develop, read, and understand PFD’s (Process Flow Diagram), P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram), equipment sizing, conceptual designs, and optimal utility consumptions
  • Working knowledge of CAD, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software
  • Above average analytical and organizational skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal and problems solving skills in dynamic environment where managing multiple priorities is the norm
  • Strong personal leadership skills, good presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter and solid team player who is willing
