OCI Solar Power is a respected project developer & owner-operator of solar power projects. The Project Dev. Assoc. of Site Origination provides support for a growing organization in a fast paced environment. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas and provides a perfect opportunity for a professional looking for interesting work within a small cohesive team, the ability to expand their experience and contribute to the corporation's success. Under general supervision by the Development Planning Manager, they will provide support for the Project Dev. team to assist in the origination of energy projects & supplementary initiatives. They will also assist with coordination of numerous project dev. activities, including research & analysis, technical, & business related responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct desktop site feasibility analysis to assess the viability of potential sites for both greenfield and acquisition targets.
- Develop and maintain a site prospecting pipeline, identifying potential solar project locations and evaluating their suitability based on criteria such as land availability, solar irradiance, and proximity to grid infrastructure, desktop feasibility analysis, etc.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create technical drawings and exhibits for land lease agreements and easements, supporting the negotiation process with landowners while ensuring accurate representation of project plans and requirements.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants to conduct environmental impact assessments and develop required mitigation plans for solar projects.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and local authorities to ensure compliance with permitting and zoning regulations for solar projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and government incentives related to solar energy to inform site origination strategies.
- Provide oversight and support to our ongoing projects as needed.
- Performs ad hoc analysis and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Science, Engineering or related field
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience; Preferably in renewable/energy power sector
- Prefer experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Organized and efficient and capable of setting priorities in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently and manage vendor relationships
- Good team player and ability to work in a growing team environment
- Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem resolution skills
- Self-starter with effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects
- Travel required, up to 10%
