Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to be based in our San Diego, CA office. This position will support our Environmental Permitting & Planning team.

This position is expected to begin August/September 2023.

Job Overview:

The Project Controls Analyst will support our Environment business line. Our environmental services help industrial and public sector clients around the world balance growth with resiliency — achieving compliance and reducing, or eliminating, risks while protecting our natural environment.

The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills with hospitality mindset, as this role requires hotel-concierge-level customer-oriented support services.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

Assisting the Project Manager and Senior Project Controller in:

  • Maintaining the AECOM project financial system (uploading change orders, opening and closing projects, compiling monthly EAC).
  • Assisting in the development of project WBS.
  • Setting up and administering project cost control, including monitor, collect and analyses actual costs, commitments, and accruals.
  • Identify cost trends and reports analysis to project management and clients and maintain project key performance indicators.
  • Develop reports to clients, including but not limited to progress and financial reports
  • Developing and maintaining project variance and earned value reporting and highlighting exceptions to the project manager.
  • Evaluate tasks progress against project schedule and budget. Evaluate project performance and identify areas of concern.
  • Compiling monthly invoices and following up with client AP for approval and payment
  • Assisting the Project Manager with developing Estimate to Complete costs and revenues.
  • Assist in the identification of change conditions and the development of Change Order requests documents and estimates.
  • Manage subcontractor’s involvement in the projects. Coordinate contracts, budgets, commitments, expenditures, invoices and performance.
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis as required by the Project Manager.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.
  • General project coordination, logistics and administration.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, or related field of study
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Valid U.S. Drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:       

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with hospitality mindset, as this role requires hotel-concierge-level customer-oriented support service
