The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Controller to support the project finance team. This person will be able to work a hybrid/remote schedule from one of our RS&H offices.
As a Project Controller, you will be responsible for performing routine aspects of project management support, utilizing knowledge and application of basic project controls principles. In this role, you will assist the project management team in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Under supervision, you will have the authority to make independent decisions and exercise judgment for routine issues. Utilizing prescribed methods, you will work on and support multiple small to medium-sized projects with limited complexity.
Essential Functions:
- Provides project setup and maintenance in ERP system (phases, tasks, budget allocation, etc.) in collaboration with project management and billing staff. Analyzes key financial metrics to ensure the project management team can meet project deadlines and budget objectives.
- Assists project management team in assembling scope and fee proposals verifying associate labor rates, checking format, and proofreading.
- Coordinates contract and subcontract execution; amendments to ensure contracts contain applicable signatures and attachments.
- Coordinates client invoicing in collaboration with project management and billing staff.
- Leads subconsultant invoice processes, acting as a liaison with project management and billing staff and subconsultants. Reviews subconsultant invoices for accuracy.
- Opens and maintains opportunity data in ERP system with direction from project management team.
- Monitors, coordinates and controls a project throughout its lifecycle. In collaboration with project management staff, facilitates ongoing financial reviews to identify areas of improvement or cost-savings throughout the project.
- Facilitates project closeout processes, including final subconsultant payments, monitoring of collection of accounts receivables, validate project data entry, and file archiving.
- Assess and provide recommendations to resolve schedule, scope changes or delays to the Project Team and FP&A Team.
- Perform other project duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Requires knowledge and application of basic project controls principles obtained through relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and possess intermediate Excel proficiency in producing spreadsheets with data formulas, pivot tables and charts.
- Experience in Deltek ERP and SharePoint is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, self-starter and eagerness to learn
- Must possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong organizational, prioritization, and oral and written communications skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

Physical Demands:
- Able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally required to sit and stoop.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
