Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Project Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing project related accounting activities within the company. This role involves managing the financial aspects of various renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support project management and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management of all renewable energy projects, ensuring project accounting from tracking projects, validating invoices coded to the projects, project close-out, and reconciling overall project payables to project budgets.
• Generate project financial reports and visualization, evaluating the reports for accurate presentation of data and findings, including developing analysis on labor breakage, cost trending or other various project related financial reports to be escalated for review.
• Implement and maintain cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budget. Identify and analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Review and manage financial aspects of project contracts. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and coordinate with legal and project management teams as needed.
• Track project costs and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Support external audits related to project accounting. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior management, and other stakeholders in finance and operations to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to project accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
