He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Auckland Council’s Customer & Community Services Directorate has an opportunity for a Programme Manager to join the Community & Social Innovation (CSI) team. 

 

The Community & Social Innovation department includes The Southern Initiative, The Western Initiative, Auckland Co-design Lab and their associated programmes. The CSI is Auckland Council’s innovation team, tasked with disrupting persistent disparities and inequity. Their vision is that south and west Auckland are prosperous, resilient places where tamariki and whānau thrive.

 

The Programme Manager is one of the few roles which has oversight across the whole department and is critical to the internal operations and driving high performance. It is responsible for CSI’s systems for ensuring prudent and strategic financial planning and management, health, safety and wellbeing, risk management, compliance and reporting. 

As such, you will lead CSI’s ‘engine room’ and play a unique and important role in supporting the General Manager.

 

You could expect to:

• Manage external funding, sourcing and allocation.
• Oversee budgeting and departmental liaising with Council’s Finance department.
• Work on CSI’s reporting and planning.
• Offer strategic advice on the future direction of the department.

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires demonstrated financial acumen and experience navigating financial and commercial environments. You will likely have experience in managing financial systems in large and complex and potentially political organisations.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (finance, business).
• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Preferably prior experience working with government (either central or local).
