Mission Focus: This program will provide support to the Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO) Training & Evaluation Directorate. You will be on the ground floor of developing a testing program of record whose aim is to provide a comprehensive suite of integrated testing tools which can be deployed widely across the Department of Defense enterprise to address key T&E gaps. In particular, you will support the testing of AI system performance, cybersecurity, adversarial resilience, and explainability.
Clearance: US Citizenship required
Location/Flexibility: This work shall be performed onsite in Falls Church, VA and Arlington, VA. Remote work is permitted with several in person meetings per month required
Travel: May include deployment to hazardous duty areas. May include frequent flights for tasking at remote locations in support of US Government exercises and operations.
Responsibilities:
As a Program Operations Manager you will:
- Demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter, work in a highly collaborative, virtual, and versatile environment handling an array of duties and responsibilities with particular focus on coordination, event organization, team facilitation, time management, and multi-tasking abilities
- Maintain organizations charts, recall rosters, and email distribution lists
- Schedule appointments and make arrangements for meetings, to include agenda and calendar reminders
- Attend meetings; record actions and prepare minutes for distribution
- Create various weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports
- Plan and execute periodic events and information sessions for government workforce, including identifying the topics, handling all event logistics, preparing presentation materials, and marketing the event.
- Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and government regulations.
- Support program manager on budget, scheduling, operations, and project execution decision making.
- Plan project budget and funding execution across agile schedule
- Create work breakdown structures (WBS) for software project
- Create and ensure consistent alignment to project scope
- Create and consistently track project schedules and Gantt charts, following agile best practices
- Coordinate operations of project event planning and technical demonstrations
Required Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of project management experience in Government contracting
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through prior experience working with management to find solutions for customers and coaching teams on agile development best practices
- Proven experience with agile techniques and understanding of practices for software development
- Demonstrated experience working with multiple specialties in a "one-team" environment.
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to proactively engage members both inside and outside of your team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including capability to make presentations to and interact with end-users
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced level proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge of project management concepts and principles.
- Willingness to travel outside the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoD programs as a Government contractor
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence development and testing
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
