We have an excellent career opportunity for a Program Manager – Specimen Logistics to join our growing team. This position offers a hybrid work model with a combination of on-site presence at the Labcorp 1400 16th Street in San Francisco, CA location and remotely.
Position Summary
The Specimen Logistics Program Manager will play a key role in driving projects that enable specimen movement between specialty genetics lab services across the Labcorp ecosystem to expand testing options for patients.
Scientific program managers drive development from concept to launch for research and development projects as well as new products. The team establishes standardized processes for managing programs, resources, and timelines. The program manager's background in the field of expertise allows active contribution to troubleshooting, scientific decision making and guiding the team through technical decisions.
Qualifications:
5–8 years of experience in program or project management, with demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams within genetic testing or other biological related experience.
Advanced project management expertise, strong leadership skills, and ability to drive results in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Solid knowledge of project management principles and frameworks; high attention to detail and high proficiency using diverse project management tools
Solid understanding of how technical projects contribute to business goals and strategic objectives.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment; able to promptly and efficiently react to project adjustments and changes.
Ability to handle complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Exercises judgment in selecting, evaluating, and adapting complex techniques to obtain results.
Ability to network with key contacts outside own area of expertise; brings subject matter experts from different teams together to resolve technical challenges.
Ability to foster a culture of clear, concise, effective communication with active listening; asks questions to ensure understanding and drive consensus.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of genetics and next generation sequencing technologies and molecular approaches
Familiarity with molecular diagnostic assay / genetic test development and validation projects under design control and in compliance with CAP/CLIA and/or FDA regulations
PMP and/or Agile certification
Essential Duties:
Lead multiple cross-functional projects with mid to high complexity.
Develop and execute project roadmaps aligned with business and scientific goals.
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope.
Influence resource allocation decisions to support project success.
Communicate complex scientific and technical topics to stakeholders, including leadership.
Establish best practices for project execution and documentation.
Function as a mentor to junior program managers, helping to develop their skills.
Foster collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and deliverables.
Education
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in genetics, bioinformatics, life sciences, or a related field.
Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
Pay Range: $110k-$140k annually (USD)
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
