Overview 

We are seeking an accomplished Program Manager to lead strategy development and full-lifecycle execution for a high-profile initiative at the intersection of energy, carbon sequestration, upstream, and midstream operations. This role will design, implement, and oversee the commercial and technical approach for pursuing and delivering large-scale energy infrastructure deals with major data centers, primarily in Texas. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience managing capital projects exceeding $200M, combined with the ability to translate strategy into a robust project plan and ensure disciplined, on-time delivery. This is a remote role. All qualified candidates MUST be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Please note that we do not work C2C.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable, detailed project plans; define milestones, deliverables, and performance measures to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Direct the execution of complex capital projects, ensuring scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements are met or exceeded. Oversee procurement, vendor management, permitting, construction readiness, and operational handover.
  • Establish disciplined program governance processes, including change control, decision gates, and stakeholder approvals; track and report against KPIs, budget, and schedule in Smartsheet and executive dashboards.
  • Anticipate and proactively address execution risks and bottlenecks; develop mitigation plans and escalate critical issues for rapid resolution.
  • Coordinate and align activities across engineering, commercial, finance, operations, legal, and external partners to ensure seamless execution and integration of all workstreams.
  • Lead executive-level discussions, presenting clear, data-backed recommendations to accelerate decisions and remove barriers.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations; ensure communication channels and reporting mechanisms are clear, timely, and transparent.
  • Produce professional-grade project deliverables, presentations, and documentation for leadership, partners, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

·       10+ years of progressive program/project management experience in energy, oil & gas (upstream/midstream), or related infrastructure.

·       Proven track record implementing and delivering capital projects of $200M+.

·       Experience delivering energy infrastructure for large-scale data centers.

·       Knowledge of carbon sequestration technologies, regulatory frameworks, and commercial models.

·       Strong experience overseeing full-lifecycle project execution, from concept through commissioning.

·       Exceptional facilitation, executive communication, and decision-driving skills.

·       Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, SmartSheet, and professional documentation.

·       Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, fast-paced, cross-functional environments and deliver results under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•        Bachelor’s degree required. Masters’ degree preferred.

Compensation

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensational decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a 6 +month consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $85-$100/hr. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
