About the role

Reporting to the AVP, Change Management, the Program Coordinator, Change Management & Talent Development plays a pivotal role in organizing, facilitating, and overseeing various initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and growth of Duke Health leaders and team members. A successful Program Coordinator in talent development requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, a grasp of learning methodologies, and a keen understanding of the organization's talent needs to drive impactful development programs.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Program Design and Development: Collaborates with HR and training teams to design and plan talent development and change management programs aligned with organizational goals, focusing on skill enhancement, leadership development, or specific training needs.
  • Coordination and Logistics: Manages the logistics of training sessions, workshops, Leadership Briefings, or any talent development programs. This includes scheduling, venue booking, coordinating materials, and ensuring the smooth execution of these events. The Program Coordinator will partner with the Executive Assistant of the SVP CHRO to coordinate events and invite onsite coordinators and facilitators as needed.
  • Training Participant Management: Handles participant registrations, communications, and ensures that participants receive necessary information before and after the training sessions or programs.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Implementing evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Collecting feedback from participants and stakeholders to gauge the impact of the programs and making improvements based on assessment results. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Technology Integration: Leveraging technology platforms or learning management systems (LMS) to support training initiatives, track participant progress, and manage learning resources.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Compiling and analyzing data related to training effectiveness, participant progress, and other relevant metrics. Generating reports to share insights with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Adaptation and Innovation: Staying updated with industry trends, innovative learning methodologies, and best practices in talent development. Implementing new strategies or technologies to improve the effectiveness of programs.

Represent assigned programs; serve on various committees and attend professional meetings as appropriate. Maintain liaison with other programs, offices and departments at Duke to coordinate program business and to accomplish program objectives; interface with external organizations as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications at this Level

 

Education: 

Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.    

 

Experience:

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

Degree, Licenses, and/or Certiication:

N/A

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong project management experience.  Proven ability to supervise/coordinate the work of others in a project team to accomplish goals.  Experience with data analysis, strong cognitive skills, and understanding of how to present data for decision-making to senior leaders.  Strong oral and written communications skills, specifically the ability to lead meetings, and to create and manage communications strategy for program implementation. 

 

Distinguishing Characteristics of this Level

Preferred Qualifications at this Level:   Masters Degree in education, change management or equivalent Masters or work experience.
