Summary
The Program Coordinator facilitates after-school activities at different schools and other outside facilities. They coordinate year-round activities related to the department's recreational needs. Reports to Deputy Director for all related programs and activities.

- Applicants must be City of Pittsburgh residents at the time of application and must remain a resident throughout employment.

- Applicants must obtain Pennsylvania Act 153 Clearance prior to appointment.
- Applicants must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certificates within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
- A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License (or out-of-state equivalent) is required at the time of application and will be verified prior to appointment to the position and must be maintained throughout employment. Written requests for accommodation based on the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act will be considered by the Department of Human Resources & Civil Service on an individual basis. Out-of-state driver's licenses MUST be transferred within thirty (30) days.

Qualifying Requirements:
Your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will receive notice of your eligibility status via email.
- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of professional experience working within a community recreational programming area, with additional experience in planning, organizing, and sports programming activities and events, or a related field. (Less than full-time will be calculated on a pro-rated basis).
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show an Associate's degree in Parks & Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Leisure Studies, or a related field. (See NOTE under General Application Requirements regarding education/training verification.)
- EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of year
