About the role

Overview

 

The Productivity Leader supports the success of PepsiCo Foods North America by owning and executing the site's productivity agenda. This role is responsible for ensuring the site achieves its annual productivity goals by coordinating active projects, analyzing current operational practices, recommending improvements, and managing cost-saving initiatives.

 

A key responsibility of the role is to build and maintain a strong pipeline of future productivity projects. Success in this position will be measured not only by the achievement of key business objectives but also by the individual’s ability to model and promote behaviors that foster continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and sustainable growth.

 

This position is based onsite in Columbia, MO and plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence at the plant level.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, identify, recommend and implement methods to reduce waste, inefficiencies and non-value-added activities. 
  • Establish and adhere to department variable and fixed budgets; to establish and adhere to yield, waste, and over-pack standards; to direct the department in such a manner to ensure the highest level of efficiency while meeting these budgeted costs and standards; to continue to push the organization to attack leading financial losses.
  • Coach and train others on variable labor costs, yields, and fixed budgets.
  • Lead projects within department through cross-functional collaboration with a variety of functions depending on the project (Plant Ops, Quality, Planning, Engineering/Maintenance, R&D and Performance).  Productivity projects could take the form of labor optimizations, waste reduction, fixed cost optimization, etc. 
  • Coordinate and complete cost studies, impact to fixed budgets, and work with the project study team to identify capital requirements.
  • Analyze component and total system (process/equipment/ methods) capabilities; identify, develop, and execute improvement opportunities. 
  • Drive project leadership which includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, chartering project teams, leading teams to execute projects with the problem-solving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and engaging team members (salary and hourly)
  • Leading and facilitating Root Cause Analysis
  • Ensure financial commitments and targets are achieved or exceeded in the areas of operating income and invested capital to ultimately contribute to the net profitability of the business.
  • Responsible for the management of capital plans, cost improvement goals, variable costs, fixed costs (including maintenance), quality, high performance work system development, and other miscellaneous areas.
  • Develop long range plans, goals, and strategies in order to ensure net profitability of the department.
  • To establish/maintain departmental programs which assure full compliance with pre-established Federal, State, Corporate and Plant sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments affecting the department, including new products, modifications, and processes.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $69,900 - $117,000.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
